Job Overview:
Fixture Concepts, a leader in manufacturing high-quality custom architectural millwork, casework, and store fixtures, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wood Finisher to join our team in Saint Peters, Missouri. This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in perfecting the final appearance of custom wood products and thrives in a clean, professional, and team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare wood surfaces for finishing by sanding, filling, and cleaning.

Mix and apply stains, sealers, paints, lacquers, and other finishes to a variety of wood products.

Match custom finishes based on samples or customer specifications.

Inspect finished products for consistency, quality, and adherence to company standards.

Maintain clean and organized spray booths, finishing areas, and equipment.

Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals, tools, and equipment.

Collaborate with production team members to meet project deadlines.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in wood finishing, furniture finishing, or a related field required.

Strong understanding of finishing techniques and materials, including stains, paints, and topcoats.

Ability to color match and apply consistent finishes across multiple pieces.

High attention to detail and quality.

Familiarity with spray equipment, hand tools, and safety protocols.

Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the workday.

• Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of materials and finished products up to 50 lbs.

• Bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching as needed to perform finishes.

• Manual dexterity for sanding, spraying, and detailed finishing work.

• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.

• Tolerance for exposure to dust, wood particles, noise, and shop environment (most PPE provided).

• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug-test as a condition of employment.

Work Schedule:

• Two available shits:

  • First Shift (6:00am – 2:30pm)

  • Second Shift (2:30pm – 11:00pm)

• Monday through Friday

• Overtime/weekends may be required based on production needs
